Council greenlights City’s Eastside Transportation Plan

On Tuesday, the City Council approved the adoption of the Eastside Transportation Plan (ETP) to be included in the upcoming Master Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Plan update. Council approved funding $1.1 million for the East Lancaster Avenue Corridor and Sub-Regional Planning Study, retitled the Eastside Transportation Plan in September 2022. The plan outlines capital projects necessary to inform the design and reconstruction of East Lancaster Avenue (SH 180), Brentwood Stair Road and Bridge Street. SH 180 reconstruction is fully funded and 60% designed from Loop 820 to Riverside Drive. The ETP is a testament to the City’s Transportation & Public Works (TPW) Department’s project development and delivery process, leading to capital project funding and construction. The project development process commenced in January 2023 and concluded in January 2025.
