Help Shape the Future at Tyler Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan Open House:
The City of Tyler is calling on residents to help shape the future by attending the Tyler Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan Open House on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mayfair Building, 415 Fair Park Drive. The come-and-go event will provide community members a chance to learn about the City’s long-range plans and share ideas that will help guide growth and development over the next 20 years. Tyler is growing, and with that growth comes the responsibility to plan wisely and collectively. As neighborhoods expand, businesses invest, and infrastructure evolves, the City of Tyler is launching a new community vision: the Tyler Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan.
"The goal is to create a shared vision for Tyler that supports smart growth and embraces new opportunities," said Assistant City Manager Heather Nick. "The Tyler Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan represents that vision for our future that prioritizes the needs and desires for All of Tyler.”
This long-range plan will serve as a roadmap through 2045, covering everything from housing and land use to transportation, economic development, and public infrastructure. It builds on the foundation of the Tyler 1st Comprehensive Plan from 2007 and related area plans, reflecting new data, new opportunities, and the changing needs of the community.
Your voice matters. Feedback gathered at the open house will help guide the final draft of the Tyler Tomorrow plan, which is expected to go before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council in fall 2025.
